John L. “Ted” Camer
age 72, of St. John, IN, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Eleanor “Ellie” (nee Frelka); sons, Justin (Julie) Camer and Ryan (Nicole) Camer; precious grandchildren: Audrey, Avery, and Adaline Camer; brothers, Paul (Chris) Camer and Daniel (Barbara) Camer; and many nieces and nephews. Ted is preceded in death by his parents, Lorraine and Francis Camer and sister, Joan Potter.
Ted was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church Choir in Schererville. Among his many talents were music, magic, and mixology. His favorite sport was golf, and he was an avid Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed reading and writing songs but most of all he adored spending time with his family, friends, and grandchildren.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave. Schererville, IN. A Memorial Mass will be held at 12:30 PM on Monday, June 10, 2024, directly at St. Michael Archangel Catholic Church, 1 Wilhelm Street, Schererville, IN with Fr. Robert Ross officiating. Services will conclude at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to “Hockey Fights Cancer” powered by the “V Foundation for Cancer Research” donate.v.org
