Stewart, Johnny, passed away on October 8, 2022, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. Anyone who had the privilege to know Johnny can tell you that he was an exceptional person with a love of music and an uncanny ability to make those around him smile. Always lighthearted, Johnny knew how to light up a dull room with a simple one liner and a fantastic grin.
Born John William Stewart on April 14, 1992, he was a happy and rambunctious child, known for his love of Legos, outer space, and fascination with the comic Calvin and Hobbes. This was fitting, as Johnny possessed an incredible imagination and a thirst for adventure. Eventually that adventure transformed Johnny into an Eagle Scout, spending much of his childhood bonding with his father while hiking through mountains, boating off the coast of Florida, or singing songs around a bonfire at the family farm.
As Johnny grew older, he soon developed a love for music. His room was plastered in band posters and a constant hum of music could be heard through the door. He enjoyed strumming the guitar for friends and informing anyone who would listen of the latest and greatest band he had just learned about. As an adult, Johnny took this fondness of sound and turned it in to a successful career as an audio engineer, providing festival and concert goers alike with the best music experience they could imagine. It was his passion in life.
Music may have been his passion, but his absolute true love are his sons Henry and Oliver, which he considered his most beloved achievement. Johnny cherished spending time with his boys, whether it was playing at the park, riding roller coasters at Six Flags, or just being at their side as they discovered the world. Everything they did made him happy. Henry and Oliver will forever be the brightest light of his life.
As the second youngest of five children, Johnny leaves behind a large family that loves him dearly. Each of us have so many wonderful memories of our time spent with him. We are lucky to have been part of his life. Johnny’s fun-loving personality and infectious laughter will echo in our hearts forever.
Johnny is survived by his two beloved sons, Henry & Oliver, his parents Kathy & John Stewart, siblings Mary (Steve) Hemenway, Laura (Mike) Sanders, Jenny (Paul) Spearing, & Jack Stewart, his grandmother Jean McCormick, his nieces and nephews, Mikey, Lola, Johnny, James, Andrew, and William, as well as his many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
