Mr. Joseph Aaron "Jody" Spicer

Mr. Joseph "Jody"Aaron Spicer, age 38, of 705 Ave D, Opelika, Alabama, formerly of Commiskey, entered this life in Jefferson County, Indiana, on May 7, 1967, the son of Joseph Harold Spicer & Marjorie Lou Sachleben Burch. He was raised in the Commiskey Community and was a 1985, graduate of Madison Consolidated High School. In high school he enjoyed participating in the Band, German Club and Sign Language Club. He attended Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky for two years, studing Handicap Rehab. During High School he was employed at Wendy's Restaurant. After college he worked at Greyhound Bus Lines in Asheville, North Carolina as a ticket agent for three years. He enjoyed playing the trumpet, listening to music, nature, walking in the woods, the farm at Dupont, and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Jody was reported missing in June 1993, and his remains were found in a wooded area on Anderson Road in Opelika, Alabama, about five miles from his home. No foul play is suspected.

Spicer of North Vernon, Indiana; his sister: Susan Webber & her husband: Kevin of Savannah, Georgia; his brother: Jamie Spicer & his wife: Shalah of Greenwood, Indiana; his step sisters: Tami Gobble & her husband: Rex of Charlestown, Indiana, Ruthie White & her husband: Finis of Fairfield, Illinois; his step brother: Mark Henr y Burch & his wife: Anna of Madison, Ohio; his paternal grandma: Geneva Spicer of Madison, Indiana; his nephew: Justin Spicer; his step nieces & nephews: Jaclyn & Logan Carroll, Tylor & John Gobble, Jutin & Christopher Anderson, Morgan Louanne & Isaac John White; his aunt: Betty Bright of Madison, Indiana; 3 uncles:Tom & Jean Spicer of Auburn , Alabama, Terry & Dianne Burch of Hanover, Indiana, Jerry & Becky Burch of Madison, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his step father: John Henry Burch died: April 12, 2000; his maternal grandparents: Harry & Emma Sachleben; his paternal grandpa: Harold Spicer.

FUNERAL CEREMONY
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 11:00 am, by Bro. Bob Hicks, Grandview Memorial Gardens, 9306 N. US Hwy 421, Madison, Indiana . Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, Madison, Indiana.

VISITATION
Friends & Family will gather on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 10:30 am at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana.

MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS
Memorial contributions may be made to Journey of Faith at North Madison Christian Church. Cards are available at the funeral home.

Jody was one of my dearest friends in high school there in Madison. We enjoyed great times in band and just being good friends. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
