Karen Goellner

Karen had the most beautiful smile. She was always upbeat & a joy to have lunch with in Kirkwood. Her house was a jungle of plants & out side she had a plethora of milkweed to feed her beloved Monarch butterflies. I miss her very much. I wish that I hadn't given up so quickly trying to find her obituary. I treasure the last letter she wrote me on April 3. 2021. Thank you, Don Corrigan for your beautiful memorial column on Karen. She was unique & a dear, dear friend.

They're not taking care of your garden, and the house where you lived in Kirkwood looks sad. Your vital energy is missing. One life does make a difference. RIP

Ah, Karen, such a beautiful voice to be silenced! Ron and you were such a devoted couple. It was my privilege to know and work with Ron at the Zoo when he was just starting to try to breed hellbenders. Then though him, I met you. The Zoo parties at Lucy and Pat Bailey's. The conferences, the memorial for Ron. You are both missed.
