I think of my cousin Karin every time I think of her dad, my Uncle Jack. Karin was beautiful, inside and out. Her smile would light up a room.

Karin Cecelia Craig Davis was a loving mother, partner, daughter, sister and friend. She was a singular, beautiful bright light and she passed away on May 15, 2021 after a long, brave fight with cancer.
Karin was born in Kentfield on December 6, 1966 to Jack Craig and Carol Leif Gianni. She cherished her two sons - Preston and Colin Davis. They were her sun and moon and stars; she couldn’t have loved them more than she did and she fought heroically to stay with them as long as she could.
She deeply loved her partner Patrick Johnson, and his children Evan and Kalina. Karin and Patrick had a great love story and she felt his devotion until her very last minutes. She was adored by her big, lucky extended family and by her many friends all of whom are grateful to Patrick for taking such good care of her.
Karin graduated from Drake High School, Chico State University and the University of California, Berkeley. Her dedication as a social worker in Marin and Sonoma counties reflects her energetic, love-filled, optimistic, and cheerful approach to life. She was a smart cookie with a huge heart and she worked hard her whole life. She gave freely of herself and she was a rascal pretty much from day one -- she really always knew how to find the fun. She also kept going no matter what life threw at her; she was filled with an irrepressible playful spirit. Everything was always better when you were with Karin, even when the chips were down.
Karin is predeceased by her father and is survived by her sons, her partner, her mother, her sister Annamarie Craig, her step-father Bill Gianni, her step-sister Laura Gianni-Petoyan, her step-brother Michael Gianni, the Griff family, her loving aunts Earlene and Cheri, entire Leif clan, as well as the Johnson family. A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, May 24, 2021 at 1:00PM at the Pleasant Hills Memorial Park 1700 Pleasant Hill Road, Sebastopol, CA 95472. Reception to follow, details will be available at the service.

Karin, we met in Chico when we were in the same sorority. Then after college we were roommates in Sacramento. You were always such a true friend who made me laugh all the time. Even when I moved across the country and time passed when we communicated, when we did, we would just pick up where we left off. I will forever cherish our friendship and all of the great memories that we shared. Love you my friend.

Karin you will be missed by so many. I am so grateful to have you as a cousin and a friend. I have appreciated your wisdom and kindness over the years. Mostly I just appreciate your amazing spirit, spunk and loving nature. Your whimsical use of words and tendency to add a XTER to the end of names will always be remembered. The love you have for your boys, life and loved ones will continue to be felt.
Love you Chixter with all my heart - Riva

Karin always brought the light with her wherever she was. Compassionate social worker, powerful advocate, she worked from the heart. She brought connection and healing to those in deep pain. Over the 20 years we worked together in Marin and Sonoma she never missed a chance to kick over the hornet's nest, creating dialog and change. She brought life into stuck process and humor into rules that had become too serious. It was never a sleepy day when Karin was around. On her slowest day running...

Our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the entire family. Our children went to school together and Karin was one of the first Apple Blossom Moms that I met all those years ago. She was always fun to talk to, she was incredibly kind and positive, and her smile lit up a room. May she Rest in eternal Peace.

Karin...I am writing this with a very heavy heart and it is incredibly difficult to find the right words. I guess words can’t truly express the sadness I feel. Thank you for being an amazing part of my life. I will always cherish the memories.
Sincere condolences form Mark, Lisa, Taylor and David Gorjestani.

Karin was such an indominable force of positivity and light. She made everyone around her feel warm, welcomed and appreciated, and she herself moved through life with an inspirational level of resilience. Her loss feels like a gaping wound that will take time to recover from, but I feel lifted knowing her light and legacy will live on in all those she's touched over the years. Sending love from New York

Karin, I am heartbroken to know that you are no longer with us, but I can say confidently that we are so much the better for having known you. You came into our lives at a time after a tragic accident, when we were at our lowest and you showed tremendous care and love towards our family.
