Lorne and Sons Funeral Home - Delray Beach Obituary

Karl F. Jones Jr. passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 3rd at his home in Delray Beach, Florida. He was born in Hartford, Connecticut on February 14, 1935, the only child of Karl F. Jones Sr. and Faye Elizabeth (French) Jones. He grew up in the Manchester, Connecticut area and graduated from Manchester High School in 1953. After graduation, Karl became certified as a radiology technician. During his long career, he worked in medical centers in Hartford, Connecticut; was Chief X-ray Technologist at Southwestern Medical Center in Bennington, Vermont; and later worked in Albany, New York.

Karl enjoyed travel, camping trips with his family, skiing, and especially enjoyed spending time on the beach, splitting his time during retirement between Troy, New York and Delray Beach, Florida. Karl will be remembered for his devotion to his family, caring for his parents in their later years, camping trips with his family, faithfully attending school and athletic events, being a kind animal lover, and for making friends within each community in which he lived.

Karl is survived by his four children: son Kurt and wife Elizabeth of Jefferson, Louisiana; son Peter and wife Dale of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia; son Bruce and wife Kim of Wallingford, Vermont; and daughter Heather and husband Phil Evaul of Annapolis, Maryland. He also leaves behind grandchildren: Kevin, Seane, Audrey, Lydia, Allison, Jason, and Diana. He was looking forward to the arrival of a great-grandchild this spring.

Karl was preceded in death by his parents. As per his wishes, there are no funeral services planned and internment will take place at the convenience of the family in Enfield, Connecticut. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Second Chance Animal Center of Shaftsbury, Vermont at www.2ndchanceanimalcenter.org.
