Lajuana Lea Rhea
1929-2013
Lajuana, our beloved mother and grandmother, left this earthly existence Nov. 14, 2013, peacefully, after a long illness.
She was born March 29, 1929 in Richfield, Utah, the first child of Kervin and Bessie Johnson. She grew up in Salt Lake City, with a sister and two brothers who she watched over lovingly. Early on, she met the love of her life, our father, Charles (Chuck) Rhea. They were married in Salt Lake, on August 14, 1945 and later sealed in the Draper, Utah, LDS Temple.
Lajuana was the best mother ever and the most loving and caring grandmother. She went out of her way to make each grandchild feel like her most special one. She was a devoted daughter, wife, and sister. She was grandma to 19 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter.
Lajuana is survived by her children: Cheryl Parry (Randy), Chuck Jr. (Smokey), Connie Berger (Jesse), Chad, Cori Smith (Doug) and daughter-in-law Penny Rhea and sister-in-law Cheryl Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son (Clint), grandson (Kevin Parry), her brothers Gary, Brent, and sister Viona.
Services will be Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 11 a.m., with a viewing from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the LDS chapel located at 14400 South Redwood Road in Bluffdale, Utah. Online condolences, www.broomheadfuneralhome.com

Not sure what to say?

To the Rhea Family - so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. My mother, Joyce Peterson Kelly and your mother were best of friends growing up. Mom used to tell us about the fun the two of them used to have growing up in the old neighborhood. What great memories. Mom is sorry she isn't able to attend the service - but would like you to know, you are all in her thoughts and prayers during this difficult time and the months ahead. Your mom was extremely special to her.

We are so sorry for the loss of your loved one. We send our prayers and condolences to your family. From Farrah Rheas aunt and uncle.

It was a shock to read about your mother's passing. We have so often tho't about our years living close by your family, and afterwards, as we dropped by to visit them occassionally. We kind of lost track of each other after we moved to St. George, but we have many memories that will continue to be special and cherished. Kent isn't doing too well, but he's 90, so we don't get up to S L anymore. You are in our prayers. May you all be blessed thro' this trial, and in the coming years.

I remember doing chicken in dutch ovens with lajuana and Chuck up elk hunting and Lola and Darrell with the horses she was always so kind so sorry for your lose she was one kind woman many memories Cathy and Jack Creechley

I have so many fond memories of Aunt Lajuana and the years of growing up in our family. Will miss her sweetness and caring for each and everyone of us. I am sure it was a touching reunion when she met Uncle Chuck waiting for her.
