DECATUR - Larry C. Van Doren, 59, son of Clifford P. Van Doren and Catherine Jane Dixon of Decatur, Illinois, died on Saturday, October 21st, 2006. Born December 7, 1946, Larry graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1965 and began his career with A.E. Staley as a co-op student at Northwestern University in 1966. He married Jackie Stevens on March 30, 1968, and attained his Chemical Engineering degree from Northwestern University in 1970. Larry's career with Tate & Lyle took him and Jackie to many countries where they met extraordinary friends in England, Argentina, and many areas in Mexico. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Jackie; son, Peter Van Doren and wife, Bridgette and grandchildren, Keira and Keilyn of Aurora, Colorado; daughter, Angela and husband, Paul Belussi and grandchildren, Alex and Rachael of Valrico, Florida; father, Clifford P. Van Doren and wife, Mabel of Bloomington, Illinois; sister, Martha Donaldson and husband, Bill of Edwardsville, Illinois; sister-in-law, Marla Walker; uncle, Austin Van Doren and wife, Jean of St. Paul, Minnesota; sister and brother-in-law, Sandie and Dan Stevens of Kankakee, Illinois; sister and brother-in-law Jim and Lyn Stevens of Glendale Heights, Illinois; and his embraced family from Belize, Tilo, Rosie, Marco, Teel, and Gaby. He is preceded in death by his mother, Catherine and brother, Perry. The celebration of life service will be held for Larry on Saturday, October 28th from 1-3 pm at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home located at 515 West Wood Street in Decatur.
