Dear Lisa and Caryn, your Mom was such a lovely person - she was one of my first students in 1972 - one of the first Broadway pros to take my class (I always remember her gorgeously muscled legs and feet and perfect body and beautiful dancing) and later teach at my 77th street studio. I also fondly recall holiday dinners at her home. She was a great asset to my studio and beloved by her students. She called several times to order some of my videos which I greatly appreciated. As the years...

Dear Caryn and Lisa, I am sorry for your loss. Your mom was a special person. She gave so much to her students. I met her at Finis´ in the late 70s. She was a stand out as a teacher. Always kind, and knew how to develop her students into strong, beautiful dancers. I was in the first revival of West side Story and had the same role she had in the original. That bonded us for life. Whenever I would return to NYC it was always a treat to meet her for lunch, a museum or theater. ...

Dear Caryn & Lisa, I was a friend of your Mother´s from BDC and am very saddened to hear of her passing. We had the same knee doctor in the 80´s and I helped her get her MOB dress (purple) for I believe Caryn´s wedding when I was also working in fashion. I hope your memories will help comfort you during this difficult time. Please let me know if you have a Memorial for the public. Sincerely, Andrea Brown

I am so sorry to hear of Liane's passing. Her ballet classes at the Broadway Dance Center were magical. She was full of energy, so kind, beautiful and elegant. With Liane directing our very good posture, glissades, turns and arabesques, for at least that hour, we were beautiful and elegant too. It was wonderful to spend time with her and to learn ballet from such a talented and legendary dancer. I remember her sparkling eyes and warm smile.

As a teenager, I had seriously studied & performed in a Jr. Modern Dance Co., but by the time I was in my 40's I had not danced in years & I had never studied Ballet. Around 1986, there was a window of opportunity & I signed up for the Slow Beginner Class @ Finis Jhung. Liane was to be my teacher. How lucky I was! She was among the BEST TEACHERS in any subject I had ever undertaken! The class moved so quickly ,I was so happy & comfortable, I could close my eyes & move & imagine that...

Thank you so much for everything Liane I will miss you and your wisdom.

Liane was a force to be reckoned with, and the finest example of precision and kindness ever.
