Lorane Claire "Rainie" Hill-Sanders

I just saws this notice, and I am so saddened by this news. Raine was such a lovely person. She was always there for everyone, and she shared her beauty with all of us who had the pleasure of working with her within the Washington County Democrats.

We had some wonderful times and also faced many challenges during those years with the Washington County Dems, but through it all -and what I will always remember about you Rainie, is your warmth, kindness and integrity.
You could be very serious sometimes, but then we'd see that smile. Dear Rainie, I wish you peace.

Raine was a delightful person, quiet in nature and full of love and compassion. She would always speak the truth and support those she cared for with warmth and courage.

Rainie welcomed me with open arms when I was introduced to the family so many years ago. She provided warmth, kind words and coached me on how to treat myself, always in a positive way. One time, when I was struggling with anxiety and low confidence about an upcoming work conference she suggested that when I had negative thoughts to tell myself "I am going to be great". On my travels to the conference and throughout the week I repeated that phrase to myself, eventually I believed it, AND I...

Rainie was one of the first people we met after moving to OR in 2005 & started volunteering with the Democrats of Washington Co. How lucky we were to have her help us navigate the area & introduce us to the people & politics of the State. Her impish sense of humor & love of life defined her.
