Read MoreI just drove by Riverside Elementary the other day with my daughters. I pointed out the big room on the end and talked about Mrs. Feringa. I always loved when we got the letter people out and her making the sounds for Mr. H (hairy hair) and Mr. T (tall teeth) She touched the lives of so many. I was a student of hers back in 1982 or 83 and her memory still lives in my heart.

She was my Kindergarten teacher at Aberdeen School in 1958. I remember her as being patient but firm, we boys were a handful. She made a lasting impression on me, I don't remember many teachers from my youth. Remember the good times and hold them close in your heart, they will comfort you in your times of sorrow. God's blessings on you in this difficult time.
