Madeline Kierra-Larae Poe was born on a wintery night February 11, 1996. She was the daughter of Stacee Kevonna Poe and the late Kris Leon Jackson. Madeline was a loving and kind soul from the day she was born. A good baby, even from the day of her birth, Madeline only cried when she needed something. Affectionately known as Maddy, she was a faithful defender of her family and friends. Madeline graduated from Kennett High School in June 2014. After graduation, Madeline tried several different areas as a career. Finally deciding that she enjoyed cooking, Madeline was working as a line chef at the time of her passing.
Madeline’s true passion was makeup and hair. She constantly changed her looks to show her unique style and consistently demonstrated her talent for hair and makeup. Madeline would often do glam for her sister, mother, family, and friends. Madeline also loved Sudoku puzzles and detailed coloring books for adults. She loved to crochet and was very creative.
With a smile that brightened anyone’s day and a goofy sense of humor that could make anyone laugh, Madeline was a powerful young woman with a mind of her own. At the age of 7, Madeline asked when a person could be baptized. She was told, when a person believed on and accepted Jesus. Madeline said, “I’ve already done that.” As she grew in her in love for Jesus, her family learned that she knew how to pray and Madeline would often be called on to pray at family gatherings.
Madeline was called home on June 5, 2018 in Philadelphia where she was living and working. The loss of Madeline in our family will have a lasting effect. We are grateful and blessed for the time she was given to us and the love we shared.
Surviving besides her mother are one sister, Michelle Alyssa-Lynn Lloyd of West Chester, PA; one brother, Kristopher James Jackson of Franklin, VA; one stepbrother, Corey Rochester of Spring City, PA; maternal grandmother, Sandra Poe of Kennett Square, PA; maternal grandfather, Kevin Boyer of West Grove, PA; paternal grandmother, Cynthia Jackson of Oxford, PA; paternal grandfather, Donald Dry Sr. of Wilmington, DE; maternal great grandmother, Gladys Boyer of Kennett Square, PA; paternal great grandmother, Nancy Dry of Jennersville, PA, one niece, Christah Kalani Castaneda-Poe of West Chester, PA, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends, too many to count.
