Mark G. Hendricks

Marcus (Mark) George Hendricks, 74, of Abbey Road, husband of Genevieve (Genny) Boggs Hendricks, passed away Monday, August 25, 2014.
Born and raised in Pickens, he was the son of the late Jim Ed and Cassie Looper Hendricks.
Mr. Hendricks graduated from Pickens High School, Clemson University and received his Ph.D. from The University of Florida. He retired from Lockheed Martin in Orlando, FL following 30 years of service. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Easley, and the Pastors Bible Fellowship Class. He was also a member of the WESCA Gem Club in Greenville and was a US Army Veteran having been stationed at Fort Knox, KY.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 51 years, is a daughter, Carmen Akers (Chad) of Oakton, VA; a brother, Dr. James Edwin Hendricks (Sue); a niece, Lee Turpin (Dennis); nephews, Jim Hendricks (Lisa) and Dr. Christopher Hendricks; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Willimon and Dora Jane Duncan; and a brother-in-law, Lloyd Boggs (LaDelle).
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 11:00 AM in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Activity Center of Heartland Healthcare West, 600 Sulphur Springs Rd. Greenville, SC 29617 or to the Kidz Town of Rock Springs Baptist Church, 201 Rock Springs Rd. Easley, SC 29642.

Sweet lifetime friends....It has been a sweet journey traveling with you all for about 46yrs. I know the Lord will go before you and make your path clear. We have had some great times and some sad times as some have gone on to be with their Savior...but...just think...we will spend eternity together...Praise..love you all...hugs libby and ray

My deep sympathy go to you, Genny, and your family.
I will long remember Mark for our Monday coffee/lunch meetings. We covered many subjects and Mark always had a calm intelligent input and a special humor. He will be very much missed.

Tommy and I were so sorry to read about Marks dealth. He was such a great man and very good friend. We enjoyed being with you two so much. This was a real shock to us. I am sure he is in a better place but we will all miss him. We will keep you in our prayers. We love you, Melba and Tommy Tucker

Hearing of Mark's death has brought such sadness. I've never met a nicer guy. Went to school with him and have great memories. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends. I know he will be missed by many.
