Marie Satterlee Kernion

KERNION Marie Satterlee Kernion, beloved wife of the late Richard Kernion, peacefully passed away at her home on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the age of 75. She is survived by her two loving children Richard Kernion, Jr. and Amy Kernion, daughter-in-law Carey Kuebel Kernion and her most cherished two grandchildren, Richard "Trey" Kernion, III and Summer Lynn Kernion, loving siblings Cynthia Satterlee Manning, Verna Satterlee Landrieu, and Audrey Satterlee Fontana, siblings-in-law Ann Smith Satterlee, Barbara Jane Roberts Satterlee, Alice Butler Satterlee and Moon Landrieu. She is preceded in death by her parents Kent Satterlee and Olga Macheca Satterlee and her three brothers Kent Satterlee, Jr., George Satterlee and Robert Satterlee. Marie Kernion loved life, all children and volunteering her time and talents to numerous charitable organizations. She adored all of her nieces and nephews and their children. Marie was a proud member and officer of the Ladies' Leukemia League, St Elizabeth's Guild and St. Vincent's Guild. The East Jefferson General Hospital Auxiliary honored her with their Great Lady Award. She was also known for Ree-Ree's swim school. Special thanks to Judy Hewitt and Sharon Marks who devotedly cared for her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at Lake Lawn at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ladies' Leukemia League, P.O.
