Mark Minkoff Obituary
Mark Anthony Minkoff, 57, passed away June 14, 2015 in Orange County, California. He was born April 21, 1958 in Hawthorne, California to Don and Erna Minkoff.
He was the youngest of the three Minkoff children which included two older sisters. Mark eventually moved with his family to Newport Beach, CA where he graduated from Corona Del Mar High School.
He met his wife, Sherry (Bergstrom), while both were attending Orange Coast College and they married October 22, 1978. Early in their marriage they resided in San Francisco where Mark graduated from the California Culinary Academy and Sherry was a flight attendant for PSA.
While still living in San Francisco they welcomed their daughter and only child, Natasha Sandra, on June 1, 1987. Shortly after the birth of their daughter they relocated back to Orange County, California and settled in Coto de Caza.
Mark's love of great food and both vintage and fast cars brought many new friends into his life. To be the guest at one of Mark's wonderful meals was indeed a treat and he often donated his special culinary skills to host many special events. He loved traveling with family and friends exploring food and wine all over the world.
With great pride and loving attention he took over as the caretaker of the collection of impeccably restored vintage cars his father, Don, had cherished throughout his life. Mark also became an enthusiastic and skilled driver himself.
Mark is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sherry Minkoff of Coto de Caza; daughter and son-in-law Natasha and Kellar Harrell of Dana Point; mother, Erna Minkoff of Newport Beach; and sister, Debra Minkoff. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Don Minkoff of Newport Beach and his sister, Catherine Minkoff also of Newport Beach.
Services will be held at Our Lady Queen of Angels, 2046 Mar Vista, Newport Beach, on Monday, June 22, 2015 at 11:00am.
Mark will be laid to rest at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona Del Mar in a private family graveside service.
The family requests that remembrances honoring Mark be made to The Joyful Child Foundation.

Mark. I had such a great time with you at the Luhan's home in Tuscany in 2008. Every time I think of you I smile and laugh about the fun time we had when you were there. The time Francesco slipped and the new oil can rolled all the way down the hill. Going grocery shopping with Jorge and the time we all went out for pizza and that little girl was singing for us. Good times. So sad to see you go but for those of us who believe, we'll see each other again some day. With much love, Valeri Pighini.

Mark you will be truly missed. I wish Eric and I could be there to say goodbye. I have many memories of you in high school and meeting Sherry. She was the love of your life along with your most beautiful and amazing daughter Natasha. I will hold my many memories of fun and good times with you and Sherry along with Natasha. My sincere condolences on the passing of Mark Minkoff. I knew Mark from high school at CDM and we had several mutual friends. We got reacquainted of recent through Facebook and our mutual love of cars. I really enjoyed our friendship and am deeply saddened by his sudden and tragic passing. May God grant his family and friends peace and acceptance of their loss and the ability to remember Mark for all the things that made him a great friend, man, partner and dad. Rest in peace Mark!

Sherry, Natasha, Erna and Debby: We just returned today June 22nd from a trip out of the country and learned about Mark's passing, too late to attend the celebration of his life so this note. I've known Mark since he was about twelve years old through my friendship with Don and Erna. I remember his keen interest in most everything he tackled. He often shared photos of Sherry and Natasha whenever our paths crossed, you were the lights of his life. We are so sorry for your loss and offer our prayers for the family.
