Marva Whetten Sonntag, Larger than life, and stronger than death. Marva made her grand entrance August 28th, 1963, born to Al and the late Elda Whetten, of Mesa, Ariz-ona. Blessed with beauty, brains, talent, and an Amazon-ian athleticism, "Marvalous" Marva could never hide in a crowd. She is remembered by family and friends as a true stand-out in everything she did. Marva courageously faced life's trials, before moving on to new adventures on Monday, December 8th, 2003. She attended BYU on a basketball scholarship, and received a Bachelor's degree in elementary education. She shared her love of music, dance, and theatrical excess with her "Singing Stars," blessing the lives of children in Arizona and Illinois. Marva and Greg were married in 1989, and worked together in bringing their four beautiful children Rachel, Ginger, Skyler, and Christine into their home. She is also survived by siblings Dion Whetten, Denise Taylor, and Kerry Whetten. Family and friends will share a celebration of her life, with a visitation on Friday, 12th of December 2003, at the Bunker Family Funeral Home, 3529 E. Univer-sity Drive, from 6:00-8:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at 2549 North 32nd Street, on Saturday, the 13th of December, 2003, at 2:00 pm, with burial to follow at the Mesa City Cemetery.
