As a friend of Mrs. Barnett's daughter, Pat Okabe, I remember Mrs. Barnett's visit to Japan where I met her for the first time. She was an interesting person, perhaps a bit overwhelmed by the differences she found in Japan and rather quiet-spoken. It was obvious that she had a warm heart and love for her daughter and grandchildren. She will be missed.
