I went to law school with Michael. After our first year in the dorms, Michael, Dan, and I got an apartment on S. Washington Avenue. Michael introduces me to my wife. I often remember the good times me had together. I was sorry to hear of his passing. Rest in Peace Michael, you will be missed.

I just learned of mike's passing. We served together as judges in Miami with the Medicare hearings office from 2005 to 2007. Mike was a great colleague and friend. He had an excellent legal mind, surpassed only by his wit. May he rest in peace.

I met Michael in law school. We became good friends, and in our second year Michael, Dan, and I roomed together in German Village. Michael was a good student and a better friend. Michael encouraged me to date Susan, who I married. This was the best advice I have ever received. While I stayed in Ohio, Michael returned to Pittsburgh to take the Pennsylvania Bar Examination. I was surprised to discover his passing. Rest in Peace Michael. Dan and I will be looking out for you.

I wish to offer my very deepest condolences to Judge Mike Bartko’s family. He was a fraternity brother of mine at the University of Pittsburgh in the late 1970s. Although it has been 40 years since we last met, I retain clear memories of a bright and insightful man. Living in Europe for the past many years, I sincerely regret that we lost touch to the extent that I only now have learned of his passing.

I was stunned to see that Michael is gone. He was a funny and complex person with a kind heart. He was there when I really needed someone and I will always remember his fun sense of humor and the love he gave me. May he rest in peace after his longtime battle. I will certainly miss him, as I always have. My condolences to Pam, his sister, during this time.

Michael Paco was an important part of many lives when we were all in The University of Pittsburgh Varsity Marching Band. He was a great friend and a warm, wonderful, funny human being. I've thought of him often through the years. I'm so very sorry to hear of his premature passing. We loved you Paco!

Mike was a good friend, and I am saddened at his passing.
Although I will miss him, I am glad his body can no longer cause him pain.
