Minnie Longshore Obituary
Mrs. Longshore was born November 7, 1914 in Gay, GA to the late Oscar William Reed and Dizzie Elizabeth Spraggins Reed. She retired from Callaway Mills, Hillside Plant as a Spinner Operator and was a member of Grayhill Church of God. "Pat" as she was affectionately known, loved everyone she met. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. Most of all, she loved Jesus and was a great example of faith and love. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Curtis "Curt" Longshore; children, Bobby Longshore, Jean Traylor, Ronnie Longshore, and George Curtis Longshore Jr.; and was the last living sibling of a family of ten.
Survivors include her children, Ruth Roberts, Reba and Marion Carson, William Longshore, Howard and Debbi Longshore, Dot and Sonny Herring, Nita and John Adcock, Hilton Longshore, Ted and Marsha Longshore; 33 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; 21 great great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.
The Gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. The Funeral service will be 11:00am Friday, July 14, 2017 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Reverend David Cross officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Welch, AL.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Florence Hand Home in memory of Minnie "Pat" Longshore.

I have fond memories of the Longshore family and how good everyone treated me back in the 60's when I was a schoolmate of Howard's. I remember Ms. Pat's biscuits as being so good especially since she made hundreds every week. My condolences to the family.
