Monte Joseph Heclo

I've known Monte since the 8th grade back in Ferndale, Michigan. We met at the Pleasant Ridge dances at the rec center. He was a funny and generous friend who would help you in any way he could. I saw him later in Florida and once in North Carolina. I live in Oregon so we didn't connect for a long time, but we have been talking on the phone occasionally for the last two years. I'm going to miss him a lot. RIP dear friend. Janice Nicholls Schultz

I met Monte in high school back in Ferndale Michigan. We met in French class and had several laughs together over our mispronunciation of the French language. Monte was a very good student, a tremendous athlete and a very funny and great friend. We had many great times together in Michigan, Florida and then over the phone when he moved to NC and me to CA.
