Joan Council Holman, daughter of the late Mrs. Ulysses Lambright and the late Mr. Richard Mack, was born September 12, 1943 in Holly Hill, South Carolina.  She entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at her residence after an extended illness.

Joan was a devoted daughter, wife, sister, aunt, and most of all a mother and grandmother.  She grew up in the Unity Community and attended the public schools of the area.

At an early age, she joined Unity AME Church (now Greater Unity).  She was a member of Class No. 15, the Senior Usher Board, and the Gospel Choir.  She was employed by the Family Practice Associates of Holly Hill for over 30 years. In 1966, Joan was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mr. William Holman. This union was blessed with five children.

Joan was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Bunch and Little Miss Ossie Lambright; five brothers, Mr. Rutledge Joe Council, Mr. Johnny Lee Lambright, Mr. Luddie Lee Lambright, Mr. Jerry Lambright and Mr. John Lambright.

She leaves to cherish fond memories: her devoted husband of 54 years, Mr. William Holman; her five children: Wallace Council of Holly Hill, SC; Bennie Lee Holman (Chandra) of Holly Hill, SC; Allen Holman of Holly Hill, SC; Carol Holman of the home; and Sawaski Holman of Holly Hill, SC; two grandchildren raised on the home: Quinton Holman and Tykeem Holman; a devoted granddaughter, Shaquanna Brown; seven sisters: Rosalyn Nicholson of Brooklyn, NY; Peggy (Bollie) Brown, Vallie Bennett, Annie Mae (Tommie) Profit, Reather Mae (James) Richburg, all of Holly Hill, SC; Barbara Whitley of Boston, MA; and Generis Dennis of Cross, SC;  four brothers: Sammie Lambright, James (Jeanette) Lambright, both of Holly Hill, SC; Willie (Shirley) Lambright of Cordova, SC; and Oneal (Alicia) Lambright of Holly Hill, SC; sisters-in-law: Lillie Mae Keitt, Maggie Little, Albertha Thomas, Margaret Holman, Jessie Dailey, Rosa Lee Dailey, Donna Lambright, Shonda Lambright; brother-in-law: James (Margarite) Booket; fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
