Comeaux-Community Mortuary & Cremations - Beaumont Obituary

Lucy Mae Thomas Harrison, age 70, of Beaumont, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on October 6th,2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Lucy was born on November 4th, 1954, in Lafayette, Louisiana to the late Joseph Thomas Sr. and Lottie Thierry Thomas. She was one of nine children and shared a close bond with her siblings.

She accepted Christ at an early age and remained a faithful servant throughout her life. She was a devoted member of Greater Good Hope Baptist Church for a number of years, where she loved serving in the women’s ministry.

On November 5th,1988, Lucy married Jesse Harrison, and together they built a loving home grounded in faith, family, and prayer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lottie Thomas and siblings Louis Thomas, Andrew Thomas, Joseph Thomas Jr., Patrick Thomas, and Michael Thomas, and is survived by two brothers- Curley Thomas and Donald Thomas (Caron) and one sister- Wanda Thomas.

Lucy had no biological children but was blessed with three bonus children- Roshonda Grandberry (Cedric), Kevin Fontenot, and Eric Fontenot. She had two Goddaughters- Kristal Duriso and Jamie Williams, as well as a host of ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Those who knew her will always remember her kind spirit, unwavering faith, and loving heart. She found joy in cooking, reading, solving word puzzles, and spending quality time with family. She was always ready with a prayer, a word of encouragement, or a helping hand.

A celebration of her life will be held on October 17th, 2025, at Greater Good Hope Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 am, with Pastor Larry Hawthorn officiating. Interment will follow at Anthony’s Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the hospital, church, family, and friends for their love and support. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that she has earned her eternal rest and is rejoicing in the presence of the Lord.
