Not sure what to say?

I just saw a picture shared of Nicky on FB yesterday. It was with a group of guys in front of the Romeo Observer. He was just a funny, kind, adventurous, thoughtful friend. Always in my heart.

Myk was kind. Like many I was amazed at his tenacity and intelligence and creativity. It seemed I was always tracking him all over in his adventure filled life, and it wasn't easy to do. His hand made post cards with quick calligraphy are treasures and inspirations both as an artist and as a single parent. He loved his son! It is with sorrow that my search has led to this page, but a fitting page to his tribute. His life goes on through his amazing son, thank you Stephan for letting me...

Our families were best friends and so were Mykola and me back when we lived in Detroit. I was shocked to get a call today from my sister letting me know he passed. Last time I saw him he seemed content...I hate seeing death take people especially too damn soon!

I'll always remember all the mischief we conspired in as children. So long, old friend.

Nick expressing himself

I met Nick in the mid-90's, through my husband Ron. Ron and Nick were friends from a very young age. They had a lot in common and I always admired both men for their individuality and intellect.
On top of being smart and not taking life's beaten path, Nick was extremely talented in multiple artistic media. Nick was a sculptor as well as a two dimensional artist. He could work with ink, watercolor or oils – he did it all. I am lucky to be able to say that my home is adorned with his...

Fond memories:
I first met Nick in 3rd grade; we shared a walk home and he showed me Romeo's only elevator which provided entertainment for a week or so. On July 20, '63 we viewed a partial solar eclipse from his family's yard. Luba was there. I remember they had a TV with a 'remote control' first one I'd ever seen.
Sometime later they started building their home in Leonard, we changed into swimming togs in the foundation of that house. During the following years I witnessed the...

RIP Nick...one of my first little friends from grade school. :(

This has rocked me to my core, I was so shocked to read this message. I have known Nicky all my life. When his parents moved from Hungary his dad worked with my dad. Nicky was smart, hilarious, open minded, creative and beyond sincere and kind. My heart goes out to all of you. Most recently I followed his passionate posts about the Ukraine. I am so sorry.
Sincerely, Nancy Arbron O'Brien
