Nancy Ann Ayres, age 64, died peacefully on the morning of April 24, 2022 at Temple University Hospital. Nancy was born on July 12, 1957, in Philadelphia, PA, to Edward and Nancy Lockhead. Nancy was one of six children.

In 1975, Nancy graduated from Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls. Later, Nancy attended nursing school where she received her degree in Practical Nursing (LPN). Nancy worked as a nurse for nearly 35 years. She spent the majority of her career in the pulmonary unit at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.

Nancy is survived by her husband (Phillip), two children (Lisa [married to Ariel], Joshua), four grandchildren (Miranda, Ariela, Jeremiah, Jaylise), and three great-grandchildren (Malani, Mason, Rashad).

Besides spending time with family and friends, Nancy was a passionate follower of Christ. She served God by serving others. She was the director of a food pantry, worked with the homeless and drug addicted, supported single mothers, and took in children off the street. She was a fierce advocate for those she loved; she never backed down from a fight. Nancy lived her life as a glowing example of God's grace, kindness, and love.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Wednesday, May 4th 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Philadelphia Christian Center, 2990 Street Road, Bensalem PA. Not sure what to say?

My sister Nancy, she loved her family more than you could imagine. She loved spending time with her children, Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren. She always looked forward to Sunday services and then having her family dinners whether it be at her home or going out. She lived a full life. There is so much more to share . Nancy, you were a sister, a friend & I’m so happy I had the pleasure of spending most of my life with you. I will love & miss you forever. May you Rest In Peace, until we...

I worked with Nancy at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. I have wonderful memories of time spent with her. Our trip to see the Christmas Show with the Rockettes in NYC with Lisa and the girls. Our trip to California for a conference. And all the times we spent in Pulmonary - they will always be with me. I miss you Nancy. RIP.

Nancy and I worked at St. Christopher's Hospital. We frequently saw each other weekly since we both worked in different departments. She was the first person to introduce herself and welcome me to Philadelphia Christian Center. She always had a smile on her face and always attended events at our Church. Often volunteering at Church. I will always remember how friendly and committed to her relationship with Jesus Christ she was and now is rejoicing in heaven with him. With love William,...
