Not sure what to say?

Blackie was my boss at Mira Mesa High School and he was great to work for, he was one of three police officers who mentored me into a career in law enforcement. He would tell me stories of his time in the LAPD which was like listening to living history, he talked of the Watts Riots, the Onion Field, and Charles Manson. I hope I had a career that Blackie would tell me he was proud of, I tried to model my career after the guidance of Blackie, SDCS Lt. Bill Ritter and SDPD School Task Force...

Worked with Blackie for 16 years. The best way I can sum up Blackie is he was a "GOOD MAN".

I worked for Blackie at Mira Mesa High School, he was one of three police officers who inspired me to go into Law Enforcement. He was a great man and mentor. A true hero.

I will always remember what you did for our nation and Fifi.

Greatest Grandfather I had.

It was an honor to know "Blackie".We flew on Fifi several times and had roomed together while on tour.
God bless "Blackie, you will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

From one B-29ner to another..Wiley

I never knew of "Blackie" until I read his obituary this morning. What a perfect end to a perfect life!! You all must have been so proud to have known such a man. Whomever wrote this? Excellent work!!

So long Blackie. What a guy.

Godspeed Blackie,
Even though it was in different wars we were B-29ers together. My sincere condolences to all who mourn you.
