Patricia Fisher

Patricia "Pat" (Zimmerman) Fisher, 61, of Waynesboro, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, after an extended battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born on October 22, 1947, in Waynesboro, a daughter of Janice L. (Comer) Zimmerman and the late George B. Zimmerman.

A 1966 graduate of Waynesboro High School, Pat had also graduated from the Staunton School of Cosmetology. Pat was the owner of Patz Cut-N-Style and Wigs and was a member of Glen Kirk Presbyterian Church, Waynesboro. She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother, and loved her job as a hairstylist and the wonderful interactions she had with her clientele for more than 35 years. She was most proud of her two sons, Alex and Fred Allen Fisher. Her beloved canine companion, her Boxer, "Gabbi", will sadly miss her.

In addition to her father, Patricia was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Calvin and Virginia Fisher; and a special canine companion of over 20 years, her Yorkie, Muffin.

She is survived by her husband, with whom she shared a devoted and blessed union of more than 43 years, Freddie Fisher of Waynesboro; two sons, Alex Fisher and his wife, Carolyn, and Fred Allen Fisher, all of Waynesboro; three grandchildren, Crystal Fisher and her special friend, Dallas Kirby, Dakota and Trevor Fisher, all of Waynesboro; two brothers, Danny and Tony Zimmerman; one sister, Diana Harlow and her husband, Bobby; several brothers-in-law, Doug Fisher and his wife, Peggy, Bobby Fisher, and Clyde Fisher, all of Waynesboro; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the wonderful doctors and nurses at the University of Virginia Medical Center, who provided her care for the last 15 months, as well as Hospice of the Piedmont for their special care.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2008, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 West Main Street, with Pastor Scott Conrad officiating. Interment will follow at Glen Kirk Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Denny Walling, Jeff Arey, Calvin Spencer, Gary Wingfield, Johnnie Kestner, and Ron Denny.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2008, at the funeral home.
