The first memory of Bishop Ahern , I was a new to O.L.A. When he walked int our 5th grade class and handed report cards out to each student, he had an encouraging word, and a smile for each student. Everyone felt so at ease. I always enjoyed his talks in mass, and his beautiful voice. (Excellent sense of humor too). I knew at 12 yrs old, he was a very special person. He left a huge impression on me from the time I was at O.L.A. I know all the angels were rejoicing, the day you went home...

I have known "Father Pat" since I was a small child. He ofetn cam to my house with my uncle, Msgr. James V. Kenney. He gave me my forst dog, a dauschaund named Bruno who was given to him by nuns. I never met a more pleasant and cheerful person. My family often speaks fondly of him. He has been missed by us for many years. I believe he is in a beautiful place now, and God bless him. I hope he says hello to Uncle Jim, Grandpa Andy and Granny for me.

Well, you finally get to meet the Little Flower, St. Therese! How you loved her here on earth...and I wish you a long, long friendship in Heaven. I knew your friend and classmate, Msgr, John Harrington, and he always had grand stories to tell about the old days with his dear friend. Roses along the path! Oneida Musa, RN

Traveling with Bishop Ahern to Melbourne, Australia, I learned of his great love for St. Therese. His book on Maurice and Therese was a wonderful contribution in coming to understand St. Therese.

Bishop Ahern, Looking back on all the wonderful memories of you from Our Lady of Angels in the Bronx. I will never forget your kindness in driving all the way from Staten Island in the snow to say Sean's funeral Mass February 1983. May you have a special place in Heaven

I never had the pleasure of meeting you, Bishop Ahern, but am so thankful for your works on earth, especially for caring for the children and families of The Seton Foundation for Learning. God blessed us with you. Rest in peace.
