In reading Pat's obit, I was struck by just how young he was when he started with us at BKHS. Guess I didn't realize he was fresh out of college. He ignored and intimidated me during my first two years in his English class, but by junior year he took me aside to tell me I had a raw talent for writing. I was on top of the world. Finally, I had a talent for something! I kept in contract with Pat during his years in Peru. He was depressed and discouraged with the lack of tools at the school...
