Patrick Vermylen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 20, 2018.
Patrick Roger Guy Vermylen.

Patrick Roger Guy Vermylen was born October 28, 1959 in Uccle, Belgium to Auguste Guy Vermylen and Jeannine Bouillon Vermylen. Patrick passed away on November 20, 2018.
Patrick lived a life of diversity. Born in Belgium he was given an opportunity to join the Belgium Navy, and was sent to the Belgium Embassy in Washington D.C. to serve as Military attache' for the Belgium military and as a systems analyst with the Military Supply.

During his time at the Embassy he met Debra Mae Singleton whom he subsequently married on July 21, 1984. This union was blessed with 3 lovely children.
Patrick was a man of great drive and determination. After his marriage to Debbie, while still working with the Belgium Embassy, he decided to further his education. He graduated from the University of Maryland; later, he received his MBA from Our Lady of the Lakes in Houston, Texas.
In 1991, Patrick and his family moved to Houston, Texas. It was at this time that Patrick left the Belgium Embassy and became an independent computer consultant.
In 1992 he became a citizen of the United States, and in 1994, he was employed by Compaq Computer Corporation which subsequently merged with Hewlett Packard. He remained employed with HP until his death.

Because of his unique linguistic ability, being able to speak six different languages, he oversaw the technical support for areas of the world that included the Far East- which included countries of Japan, Korea, China and other nations; also, he supported with his technical support team the countries of Europe, South America and North America.
In addition, to his heavy workload, he also managed to spend quality time with his loving family. The family spent many weeks and months enjoying each other's companionship on various vacations and excursions.

Patrick is survived by his loving wife, Debbie, his daughter Alexandra (Allie), and his sons Nicholas and Nathan. Patrick is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Jeanine (Vermylen) Boullion, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Along with his extended family, Patrick had a host of friends and business associates who had the privilege and the honor of knowing him throughout the years.

A celebration of life for Patrick will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339.
