The Paul I first met was a teenager who was always willing to help, always quick with a prank or a laugh- one those folks you always want around. Later when he said he'd signed up I smacked him in the head but also told him he'd do fine and coached him as best I could. Whenever he came back and after his discharge our paths would cross here or there and we'd talk about this and that, was always glad to see him and his little smile. He had turned out to be a terrific man. Great friend, top notch serviceman and damn, I will miss him

I severed with this amazing warrior in Operation Iraqi Freedom for 16 straight months. It was an honor to serve at your side Paul. I am glad God put me with his best man, while we were in harms way. Paul was one of the bravest, strongest, and most of all the greatest person that I've ever had the honor to meet. Paul and I started off as friends, and then we became family.
The "Thunder Platoon" is family, Paul was the rock of the platoon. We love you brother. Until we regroup again, keep an eye on our six.
