SEMON, Paul Henry Of Grand Blanc, age 73, died Wednesday, February 24, 2016. Funeral service will be held 9am Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Chaplain Goodman Cox officiating. Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Genesee County Humane Society. Visitation 5-8pm Thursday at the funeral home. Paul was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 14, 1942, the son of Paul and Wilma (Hackel) Semon and was a resident of Chicago and the Grand Blanc area since 1993. Paul graduated from Kelly High School, Class of 1960 in Chicago, Illinois. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1961-64. On April 8, 1977, he married Charlene Wilson in Batavia, Illinois. He was a General Foreman at General Motors Electro-Motive Division in LaGrange, IL for 32 years before coming to GM Metal Fab Division in Flint in 1993, where he worked as part of the Manufacturing Support Group before retiring in April, 2004. Paul enjoyed fishing, golfing, spoiling his only grandson Hunter, and was an avid Chicago Bears football fan. He is survived by wife Charlene; daughter Sherri Morgan; grandson Hunter Morgan; 3 sisters, Shirley and husband John Masuka of Sanibel, FL, Peggy and husband William Shamrock of Brookfield, IL, Judy Semon of Carol Stream, IL and brother Fred Semon of Hinsdale, IL; one niece and 2 nephews. Paul may be gone, but he'll never be forgotten. In the days I was in Personnel, Paul was a breathe of fresh air, both smart and with a great sense of humor. May he rest in peace, and his life's work be appreciated.
