Paula Roos Oswald

Paula Oswald, 93, formerly of Waterford passed away on Saturday October 1, 2016 at the Pendleton Healthcare in Mystic.
She was born on Christmas Day, 1922 in Elsenfeld, Germany the daughter of the late Leo and Anna (Leeb) Roos.
Paula came to the U. S. in 1954 aboard the USS Stockholm and on May 28, 1955 she married Benjamin A. Oswald in Brooklyn, NY. Mr. Oswald passed away in 2002.
Paula was a hard-worker outside the home as well as a homemaker. She was an excellent seamstress and crocheter and loved gardening and her dogs.
She is survived by her daughters, Helga Roos of Dominica, Linda Oswald of Waterford, Henrietta Oswald of Orlando, FL, a daughter in law Marianne Roos of Erlenbach, Germany, grandchildren Thomas Settle of IL, Jason (Alex) Grube of CA, Jennifer Grube and Matthew Paige both of CT, Manfred (Katarina) Roos and Stefan (Nicole) Roos of Germany, great-grandchildren Taylor Burgess of CT, Austin Settle of NC, Miles Grube of CA, Dennis, Jannik and Jan-Hendrik Roos all of Germany, nieces Sunni, Lina and Silke, nephews Klaus, Michael and Stefan, and her beloved poodle Pierre, who now lives with a friend.
Paula was also predeceased by her son Dietmar Roos, her sister Maria Kaufmann, her brothers Franz and Walter Roos, a niece Ingrid Homolka and her nephew Quentin Llorente.
She had also lost her beloved dogs Sulu, ChuLing, Suki, Mitzi, Brandy and Ringo over the years.
Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington St. New London is assisting her family with the arrangements which are to be private.
