Phyllis BRADY Obituary

BRADY, Phyllis Jean

Passed away peacefully on March 28, 2013. She is survived by her sons Dale Rankin of Jupiter, Roger Rankin of Tequesta, daughters Judy Langhals, of Colorado Springs, CO., Patty Colby, of Jefferson, TX., and Diane Butler, of Inverness, FL., and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Phyllis was born in Akron, Ohio in 1918 to William and Alice Paisley. She dedicated the past 40 years of her active life to volunteer service in her communities. Her passion was for aid to battered women and abused children. She was Volunteer of the Year 1996 in Palm Beach County for her work with the Department of Corrections Probation and Parole Service, at which time she had 4,000 hours of service with the department. She provided assistance not only to the offenders, but to the probation officers by organizing the network of community services. She was instrumental in founding of Homes for Battered Women in the Miami and Colorado Springs, CO. area. She also worked as a volunteer with the state Guardian Ad Litem programs which represent abused and neglected children in court proceedings. She vowed when she had extreme difficulty in her own life that if she survived and her children were safe that she would dedicate her life to others, and she did. She will be sincerely missed by her family and friends. Graveside services are being held at Riverside Memorial Park, 19251 SE County Line Road, Tequesta, April 1st at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Ave, West Palm Beach, FL 33407. The Family is eternally grateful for the loving care provided by the Hospice of Palm Beach County and those special caregivers at Courtyard Garden and those who stopped by regularly to share their love.

Dear Becky and Dale, Roger and Diane,
Your mom was such a beautiful lady, inside and out. The few times that I was privileged to spend with her were filled with a pleasant spirit, Jesus' love and her beautiful smile that spread joy wherever she went. I pray that you all will have a peace knowing that she has no more pain, no more tears but an eternity filled with joy and love. May God bless all of you and your families during this time.

What a wonderful, caring and giving woman, Diane. She leaves an amazing legacy Her life touched so many people that will never forget the kindness and care she gave them. I know where you get your wonderful care and concern, it was passed to you by your wonderful mother. She lives in you, Diane and will never be gone, she just passed to her reward. God bless you, Diane and my deepest sympathy to you and your family.
