North Attleboro - Raymond R. Morse, 76, of Fisher Street died at home after a brief period of declining health from myelofibrosis on December 16, 2010.
Born August 5, 1934 in Brockton, MA he was a son of the late Charles and Lillian (Gustafson) Morse.
Ray graduated from North Quincy High School in 1952. He then went on to serve in the Navy and Naval Reserves from 1952-1954.
After leaving the service he joined his father in the memorial business. Ray owned and operated Charles G. Morse Granite Company for many years. After the business was sold, he continued to work for the new owners (now Caron Memorial) up until about a month ago when his health forced him to retire. For many years he enjoyed jewelry work as part time job and hobby. He did ?hand chasing? of bracelets etc., an art that is now done by machine.
Ray was very active in his church, Grace Baptist in Attleboro, MA. He was an AWANA leader for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Barbara (Clarke) Morse of North Attleboro ; a daughter Brenda and her husband Jay Harcovitz a son Raymond Morse Jr. and his wife Carol of Amsterdam, NY; a grandson Geoffrey Yankum and his two daughters Tarynn and Alanah all of Ashland, MA a granddaughter Stephanie and her husband Brian Bauer and their daughter Kianna all of Millis, MA; three sisters, Marion Simpson of Weymouth, MA, Eleanor MacRitchie of Wollaston, MA and Priscilla Morse of Randolph, MA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his extended ?step? family that knew and loved him.
He is the brother of the late Richard Morse, Dorothy Sullivan and baby brother Edward.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 1 p.m. in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. Visiting hours will be held one hour prior to the service from 12 - 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice of CVNA, 141 Park Street, Attleboro, MA 02703-3020.

Barbara, Brenda and Butch, I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Morse's passing, As I read it I was so full of sorrow. I have known him most of my life and remember what a wonderful man he was. Next to my father Mr Morse has to the greatest man I have ever known. I have so many good memories with him it could fill an entire book. His influence in me and others will last for generations to come. Thank you Mr Morse I will miss you.
