Saxe III, Raymond D.

Raymond D. Saxe III passed away on Saturday, June 1, at Sound Shore Medical Center in New Rochelle, New York. He was 50 years old. He is survived by his ex-wife Naomi Reinitz Saxe, of Rye Brook, New York; his daughters, Amanda, Abigail, and Rachel; his sister Emily Saxe Nydam of Wellesley, Massachusetts; and his mother JoAn Teetor Marder of Tucson, Arizona. There was a private memorial service for family and friends at Congregation Kneses Tifereth Israel in Port Chester, New York, officiated jointly by Rabbi Jaymee Alpert and The Reverend Dr. John W. Miller of Hitchcock Presbyterian Church in Scarsdale. There will also be a memorial plaque placed in his memory at the Teetor Mausoleum in Hagerstown, Indiana. He was loved and will be missed.

Although I lost touch with Ray after High School, I remember many great times on and off the drum line together. Ray had a wonderful sense of humor, a healthy questioning of authority, and a great capacity for adventure that will continue to inspire. I offer my condolences to all his family and friends at this time. ..and peace to you, Ray. “The drum beats out of time…”
