Rhoda Marian Babcock Post, 58, of Beacon, New York, an educator with Wappingers Central School District from 1968 - 2000, died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, New York, on Wednesday, January 8, 2003, from complications of a long and gallant battle with cancer. Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, January 11, 2003, noon, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 145 Benkard Avenue, Newburgh, New York. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to Children's Section of the Howland Public Library, 313 Main Street, Beacon, NY 12508; Dyson Cancer Center Vassar Brother Medical Center, Infusion Center, 45 Reade Place, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601; or Beacon Volunteer Ambulance Corp., 1 Arquilla Drive, Beacon, NY 12508. Arrangements entrusted to Coloni Funeral Home, New Windsor, New York.

Terry and I will miss Rhoda very much. We both had the honor of working with her in Fishkill Plains and Van Wyck. Our sincere sympathy to her whole family. Be as strong as she was.

Rhoda was an inspirational, intelligent teacher. She knew how to reward hard work, how to develop lovers of learning, and how to encourage and motivate all who surrounded her. I feel blessed to have known her and worked with her. I will remember her, her family, and her friends in my prayers.
