Richard Cloud Obituary

Richard "Dick" Ray Cloud

August 15, 1944 - October 29, 2021

Richard "Dick" Ray Cloud, 77, of Collbran, went to be with Jesus on October 29, 2021, at HopeWest Hospice in Grand Junction.

He was born to Jack and Margaret Cloud in Telluride on August 15, 1944. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Glen and John, and sister, Bonnie. He is survived by Julie, his wife of 47 years; sons, Rich (Ann), and Bryan, and grandchildren, Ashley, Kati and Connor.

Dick attended high school in Norwood, CO, where he was a star football player and Mesa College in Grand Junction, CO. He worked as an Engineer for the Rio Grande Railroad, later becoming a successful entrepreneur, operating several ventures including Clouds Trailer Park, Rock & Gem Show, Construction, Propane and "Honey Wagon" businesses in Quartzsite, AZ.

Dick had the gift of gab with laughter, joy and a love glowing through his larger-than-life personality. His sense of humor made everyone around laugh, including his grandchildren with stories passing many hours.

Dick was a strong Christian man fighting his battle with brain cancer (Glioblastoma) but now joining his family in heaven. We will miss him, but we know he is in a much better place.

The family would like to invite you to a Celebration of Life for Dick at a graveside service at Cedar Crest Cemetery, in Collbran, Monday, November 8, 2021, 1:30 p.m. Afterwards, light refreshments will be available at the Collbran Congregational Church in Collbran to reminisce about Dick's incredible life and the footprint he has left on our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Plateau Valley Hospice, PO Box 294, Collbran, CO 81624 or HopeWest, 3090B N 12th St., Grand Junction, CO 81501.

I will miss, "hey girlie what you up to?" God bless his family, he was a great man. We have known this family 32+ yrs. And they became family through many tough times. Our children were close in age, but my fondest memories was WWF wrestling matches in Phoenix. We already miss him. May God send angels to uplift and strengthen the family during this difficult time. Dick is finallly in peace. We will meet again. Love you Julie, Bryan, Richard...
