Not sure what to say?

I attend the 30 year memorial for Richard Heakin on June 6, 2006. I did not know Richard, but was very moved by everything said at the memorial, especially the letter written by Richard's sister. He sounded like an amazing and wonderful person. I hope his family and friends find comfort in all of the love that was surrounding him at the memorial.

Richard's death cost us all too dearly, but brought Tucson so much:the first LGBT rights organizing in Arizona, the first gay newspaper in Arizona, and one of the first anti-gay discrimination ordinances in the country. I grieve for him and for his family and friends, and work to honor his memory by working for justice and equality. Peace be with us all.
