Richard John Romanoski, 74, of Barnum, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017 in Sunnyside Health Care Center, Cloquet.  He was born December 23, 1942 in Sturgeon Lake to John and Anna (Zydek) Romanoski.  Richard was united in marriage to Diane Oachs on July 7, 1962 in Barnum.  Richard was a backhoe operator in Minneapolis for 4 years until moving to Barnum in 1966 where he started his own construction business which he owned and operated until his retirement.  Richard loved cooking, baking, gardening, deer hunting, making sausage and especially loved spending time with his family.  Richard has been at Sunnyside Health Care Center since 2014 as an Alzheimer’s patient.


Richard is preceded in death by his parents.


Richard is survived by his loving wife, Diane Romanoski of Barnum; children, Roxann (Tom) Filipiak of Moose Lake; Debra Peterson of Prior Lake and Rick (Jen) Romanoski of Barnum; grandchildren, Jared, Jaime, Kameron, Savannah, Amanda and Madelyn; brother, Donald (Carol) Romanoski of Sarona, WI; 2 sisters, Judy (Tom) Klejeski of Coon Rapids and Sharon Moen of Minneapolis.


A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, October 4, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Memorial Service in Barnum Community United Methodist Church, Barnum with a luncheon to follow.  Private Inurnment will be at a later date.
