Rita Lee Hollister, 77, of Choconut, PA, passed away at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA, on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. She was born in Buffalo, NY to the late Frank and Margaret (Langevin) Rivenburg. She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Hollister.


Also surviving are her three daughters and significant others, Kimberly Somers and Gene Kolupski, Kelly and Rusty Luce, and Kristen and Dave Maffei; five grandchildren, Robert Luce, Joshua Kolupski and fiancé Shannon Bolles, Taylor Luce, Brianne Maffei and Abbey Maffei; five great grandchildren, Gavyn Kolupski, Maverick Kolupski, Jackson, Bella, and Everly Bolles; Sister, Nancy Macko, Vestal, NY, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her half-brother, James Thomas.


Rita graduated from Johnson City High School in 1961, then received her Associates Degree from Ridley Lowell School of Business. She and her husband were partners with the Doolittle family in the NAPA Auto Parts Store in Montrose, PA, where Rita did secretarial work. She worked as an aide at Choconut Valley School and was very involved with St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Endicott, NY. Rita also loved her pets.


A Celebration of life will be held later. Rita will be laid to rest in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal, NY. Donations in Rita’s memory can be made to the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, 400 W. Wendell St., Endicott, NY 13760.

Ron, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember many good times we all had when we were young and you were raising your girls. Those memories are cherished and are what we rely on to stay strong. Rita was so good for you and will leave a special place in all of our hearts.

Aunt Rita, none other like you. I will miss you and your kindness toward my family. Ron and family, always remember your wife, mother, and grandmother as a light in your life who may have guided you down a path you might have otherwise never seen.
