Rita Weisholtz Retired Woodbridge teacher was always there for her family Rita Weisholtz, 95, of Somerset, N.J., passed away Feb. 20, 2017, surrounded by her adoring family. Services were held Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Congregation Neve Shalom, 250 Grove Ave. in Metuchen, N.J., at 10:30 a.m. Interment is at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Iselin. Mrs. Weisholtz, a member of the NJEA and NEA, retired as an elementary school teacher from Woodbridge Township in 1990, after 32 years of teaching. In her retirement, she volunteered by teaching reading to immigrants, and was always there for her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel, in 1987 and sister, Addie Weckstein, in 2016. She leaves children, Mark (Enid) of Mountainside, N.J., Shelley (Linda) of Montville, N.J., Beth Braverman (Bruce) of Somerset, Amy Nebb (Rich) of New York City and Roberta Salierno (Rick) of Whitehouse Station, N.J., as well as brothers, Arthur Cansor, Myron Canson and Thomas Kirschenbaum. She is also survived by her 10 beloved grandchildren: Jason, Drew, Eric, Ben, Sara, Marisa, Kyle, Dustin, Justin and Stacey, as well as 14 great-grandchildren.
