Not sure what to say?

Bobby and Bill Bachtel got me started in kayaking. In January of 1975 they helped me build my first two kayaks and a C-2 over a couple weekends in my garage. The C-2 was for Bobby and Randy Kallstrom and I’m really surprised we survived the fumes let alone the rivers. My first trip to the Chattooga, Ocoee, Nolichucky, and Nantahala was with Bob and others and we all had some fabulous times on and off the water. The off water good times revolved around eating in Clayton Georgia restaurants...

My sympathy to you during this time. I worked with Bob at Kent and always enjoyed his smiling face and kind words. A truly good soul, his place in heaven is certain. Bob was always quick to lend a helping hand without anything expected in return. A true gentleman and humble person. He will be missed by all.

I know Bob from the Akron schools and it just makes me very sad after hearing what happened!!He was a great guy and i always enjoyed talking to him when ever i went to the building he was working at!!He will be missed by many here at the maintenance dept. of the Akron schools!!!May God truely bless his family and help them during this time!Bye Bob!!!!

My husband Dennis knows Bob for all the years they have worked together for the Board of Education. Denny says nothing but nice things about Bob.

Our deepest sorrows go out to his family during this time.

I am so saddened to read of the loss of Bobby, your son, brother, dad, and grandfather. Although I have not seen him for so many years, he made a deep impression on me, being one of the most sweet and gentle people I have ever known. Not one to be particularly forward, maybe many people didn't realize how really funny he was. Who could forget Bobby ordering a pizza? When asked for his name, he stated his name was "Reptile". When asked for his first name, he replied, "The." My deepest...

Bob and I knew each other from our old bike racing days with the Cleveland Wheelman. We rode together many times always talking about our children, my prayers are with you. My deepest condolences

Most of the time that I got to spend with Bob was on ultramarathon or long distance bicycle rides. It was always enjoyable to have Bob along. He loved to ride fast, sometimes so fast that I had a hard time keeping up! He will be missed.

Our deepest sympathy to Heath and Rob and their families. Our prayers are with you.The Varney Family
