Robert was born on February 6, 1927 and passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017. Robert was a resident of Arkansas at the time of passing. Bob graduated from Birmingham High School, Birmingham, Iowa, and entered the United States Marine Corps during WWII. Following a family gathering in Hot Springs, an interment will take place in Fairfield, Iowa. Donations in Bob's name can be made to Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation, P.O. Box 369, Kendalia, Texas, 78027.
Bob Freshwater was the best supervisor I ever had and he had the utmost confidence in me. I truly liked his style of letting you run things as long as you were willing to pay for your mistakes. One of the best human beings I ever met.

As is typical of the Greatest Generation, Mr. Freshwater was very humble as to his service to our country. I knew him as a fellow employee at Georgia Gulf and saw him as a dignified gentleman. From one veteran to another, thank you for your service. Heaven has gained a quality individual.

My condolences to Chief's family as he was known by those in the Georgia Gulf plant, particularly the Lab. I credit him for hiring me to my very first job!! My prayers and thoughts are with you all. He will forever be remembered as a pleasant, caring, and compassionate person. He has been missed long before his demise. Blessings to his family!!!
