Robert T. Holden

I first met LTC Bob Holden during a tour in Viet Nam in 1970. He was the commanding officer for a Special Forces unit Command & Control Detachment South (CCS) located near Ban Me Thuot. I was a young lieutenant and a LTC was pretty much an unapproachable officer- all of them were until Bob Holden assumed command. He was a true leader in every sense of the word. Having served under Col.Holden in Vietnam was the best year of my military career.He was the most outstanding commander that I ever served under.He was a dear friend and will be missed. We had many humorous and serious situations that we shared together.I served as his SGM.and Opns.Sgt. and what an honor.
