Not sure what to say?

Thank you for your service.

Nyasia and I have had the pleasure of being a part of the MacDonell family for five years and my daughter and I am truly honored to have known such an extraordinary man. It saddens me to know that he is no longer here to share all his many smiles and jokes with us but I do know that he is shining over us with his best friend Ozzy. He has shown more courage than any other I have even graced with the pleasure of knowing. He will always have a special place in my heart and soul. Our bricks in...

To the many friends and family members of Robert MacDonell. My friend Herb spoke with great admiration when the topic turned to his brother. Herb even gifted the grape press those two young men made so many long years ago.
Please accept my sincere condolences.

Dear MacDonell Family,
Please accept my condolences on the passing of Robert. I had the pleasure of knowing Robert for over twenty plus years, we
built a picnic table together at the cottage(no phone) , and had many a scotch as well. He was such a nice humble man, he shared his experiences of wwII and the tank battles he was involved in. I will always cherish his friendship and stories that he told me about, Rest in peace, my friend.

Dear Nancy, Craig, Christa, and Herb,

There are times when words become inadequate for the expression of one's thoughts. This is one of those times. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers at this time of your loss.

Herb please accept my condolences on the loss of your brother, Robert. You have shared with us his extraordinary exploits during WWII. I know he was your "hero", and that his heroics didn't end with his time in Europe. Each day, in many small ways, those of his (your)...

Dear Nancy, Scott, Craig, Christa, Herb and all MacDonells:

We are so saddened to learn of Bob's passing. We have enjoyed knowing him these past few years since we learned we are related. We hope Nancy is recovering quickly and look forward to seeing you in person later this summer.

With love and sympathy to all, Jack & Joan Bawden, Rochester

Dear Nancy, Scott, Craig, Christa, Herb and all the MacDonell family,

My heart is so heavy with knowing all that you are going through. Uncle Bob is such a kind, gentle and accepting soul. I am so very lucky to have known him even for just these few years. You are all in my thoughts daily and I hope that healing begins soon.

You probably can not take this much room for the following but I won't know unless I send it to you. I wrote this and it was for Memorial Day and was published in the Corning Leader in Corning, NY on 29 May 2013. Unfortunately, Robert never was able to read it. Nevertheless, perhaps now he knows what I wrote.
