Robert Lee Reidinger

"Bob"

March 15, 1937 ~ July 17, 2023

Age ~ 86

It is with great sadness that the family of Bob Reidinger announces that he passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, July 17, 2023. Dad is now in the loving hands of Our Savior Jesus Christ and his beloved wife Rogene.

Bob was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to the late Joseph and Hazel Reidinger on March 15, 1937.

He attended First Ward School and then graduated from Regis High School in 1955. Bob then went on to the University of Eau Claire, where he graduated with a Major in Business Administration and a Minor in Sociology in 1960.

He married Rogene Grill on January 31, 1959 in Eau Claire.

Dad worked for Schlitz Brewing Company and Walters Brewery, he also worked for Chippewa Woolen Mills, Shell Lake Boating Company and Trail Blazer Moving Company. He worked at these companies as the Accountant or Office Manager.

He then moved his family to Madison, Wisconsin where he worked for the State of Wisconsin as a Tax Auditor.

In the spring of 1968, Bob moved his family to Rhinelander, as he continued to work for the state of Wisconsin, for the next twenty years. While living in Rhinelander, he also opened up his own business, "Reidinger Accounting and R & R Guns". After his retirement he was employed at the Pawn Shop, selling guns! Which was his true passion.

Dad was always busy with one thing or another. He was the first parishioner to give out communion at St. Joseph Catholic Church and was so proud of the letter he received from the Bishop. He was also head of the CCD and also the Chairman for many years. He and Mom also taught CCD classes together for many years. Dad also taught many high school students as he was an instructor for the Rhinelander High School Trap Team. During that time, they went to state and won a State Title. He also taught hunter safety for many years.

Dad and Mom spent sixty years together, raising six children. Dad was a loving husband & father and for many years, took care of Rogene. He did a wonderful job!

Bob had a passion for hunting and his guns. He taught his boys how to hunt and fish. He began travelling to Colorado for Elk hunting in 1999, spending these trips with his sons, nephews and good friends. He also loved deer hunting, fishing and skeet shooting.  Dad also loved listening to CD books in the car and was always ready for a family party. In addition, Dad shared his love of the The Grand Theater with his wife and daughter.

He is survived by his five sons and daughter; Robert Reidinger of Stevens Point, Joseph (Sharon) Reidinger of Rhinelander, James (Karen) Reidinger of Custer, Richard (Sarah) Reidinger of Rhinelander, Maria (Henry) Walters of Wausau and Christopher (Amanda) Reidinger of Marathon City. His grandchildren; Bobbi (Joe), Melissa (Justin), Tiffany (Kevin), Joseph (Katie), Meghan, Robert (Brittany), Alexis and Payton, step-grandchildren; Jody (Eben) and Natasha, great-grandchildren; Isaac, Brianna and Brooke, step-great-grandchildren; Vianna, Bella and Alayna. Bob is further survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rogene, parents, Hazel and Joseph, a sister, Rose Mary and brothers, Bernard and John.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Nativity of Lord Catholic Church, 125 E. King Street with Fr. Chris Kemp officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday morning at the church, from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass.

Due to the street construction taking place on Conro and King Streets, please enter the church parking lot which is behind Nativity Catholic School. The parking lot entrance is located on Pelham Street.

Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Newbold Cemetery.

Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I always enjoyed chatting with him and many laughs over the years when he assisted with my tax prep. I'll always remember him and his stories. What a great guy. My sincere sympathies to the Reidinger family.

Absolutely adored your Dad what a wonderful person and very good at making sauerkraut. My very deepest
Sympathy goes out to his family

My condolences to all my cousins! I'm so sorry for your loss and please know that I treasure memories of Uncle Bob - most of which have me remembering his great humor and laughter. He was also a wonderful friend to my parents, for which I am grateful.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

RIP Bob (aka Dad). Being part of your life for 40+ years has been an honor and a privilege. Having lost my own father at a young age, you filled that void I needed in my life and provided great advice, love and mentoring throughout my life. I will cherish the memories, laughter, and yes even the tears. You are back with Rogene, your siblings, John and Lillian, and your parents I am sure there is a great game of cards going on with hunting stories being told. Until we meet again....

Rip Dad!! You taught me so much about life and how to be the bigger person in all cases and raised me to be the best person I can be!!! Go fishing with Mom now!!! Will miss you in every way!!

Robert was a very special husband and father to a big family that were also special because of the way they were raised in a religious loving way. I only met him a few times in church and when Richard and I were hanging out together. My best to the family Steve Morrell and family.
