Ronald Eugene "Ronnie" Phipps, age 76, passed away peacefully in his home in Bryan, Texas on October 30, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ronnie was born on April 30, 1949, in Madisonville, Texas to Stanley Barto Phipps and Leona Mae (Williams) Phipps. He attended Madisonville schools. Ronnie worked before retirement for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Mae Phipps; a brother, Curt; five sisters, Janie Sue, Dovie Patricia, Jesse, Effie, and Edith; one grandchild, Justin Middleton; and one step-grandchild, Morgean Kessler.
Ronnie loved spending his spare time tinkering in his wood workshop and building and refurbishing wood items for his family and friends. At one time, he enjoyed working on his small farm and raising his cows. Ronnie also enjoyed collecting die cast cars of all different models, going to car shows and watching old Western shows every day.
Ronnie was married to the late, Mae Wilkins, and is survived by their four children, Curtis Wayne (Karen), Bobby (Kelly), Amanda (Josh), and Dove (Richard). He has five grandchildren, Cristina, Anthony, Amber, Brandon, and Sonny. And one great grandchild, Hazel.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of twenty-two years, Glenda Phipps; step-children, Ginger (Matt), Missy (Martin), and Melanie; nine step-grandchildren, Andrew, Adrianne, Alex, Ryan, Emma, Kelcye, Madison, Jamie, and Devan; seven step-great-grandchildren, Kayden, Kamdyn, Jace, Dani, Amiyah, Addie, and Malakai; loving sisters, Margie and Elizabeth (Babe); also numerous nieces, nephews, and many good friends.
A funeral service for Ronnie will be held at 1 P.M., Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Northview Baptist Church, Bryan, Texas. Deacon Mike Hess will read the obituary and Brother Mike Williams will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Bedias Methodist Cemetery. A visitation will take place from 12 Noon until service time.
