Hello Cindy & family, I am in fact Michael's Mother & have spoken to your Father a few times on Skype. He helped both Michael & I get through some sad times whilst trying to find my biological Father who was also in the US navy on PT boats.I know Michael misses him a lot, as he respected him so much.I know you are all grieving but your Dad will always be remebered as a warm & wonderful person who was loved by many people around the world.Now he is at peace with the One who loved him most....

I left this message on 1 JAN 2012, on the funeral home website, but I also decided as a friend of Russ, I did a few minor edits and that I should add it here also.
My heart felt condolenses to Russ' family. May it comfort his family to know, Russ is that 20 year old again riding the waves with the salt spray hitting him in the face as he now enters heaven, once again riding on PT 162("The Wicked Witch"), RON 9.
