Rosey Jean Taylor On July 12, 1950, the name Rosey Jean Small was penned in the Book of Life. Rosey was born to the parentage of the late Carey and Zeffie Small in Shreveport , Louisiana. She was the fifteen child of nineteen children born to this union.
She received her formal educated through the Natchitoches School District, graduating from Central High School.
In 1972, Rosey moved to Houston and continued her educational endeavors at The School of Business Down Town. She later began his career with the Houston Chronicle where she retired after twenty eight years of dedicated service.
In 1985 she met and married the love of her life Edwin Louis Taylor to this union two daughters were born Krystal and Keena.
Rosey began her spiritual journey at the Green Ville Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. E. E. Harris, Sr. in Clarence, Louisiana. She united with the Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church Family in 1997 under the pastorate of Rev. James W. Glynn where she served faithfully as a choir member and a member of the Food Bank & kitchen Ministries.
Serious, but fun-loving by nature and jovial, Rosey gained pleasure being with family and friends. She loved to say things to make you laugh and she was always supportive and loving. Among her greatest joys was the time spent with her grandchildren and family.
A true servant who touch the lives of so many. On Tuesday, November 18 , 2014 at 1:00 P.M. she answered the call of the "Divine Time Keeper". The Book of Life was closed with the inscription, "Will done thou good and faithful Servant"
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and eight sister.
Rosey, leaves a legacy of love to her loving and devoted husband of 29 years, Edwin Louis Taylor; daughters, Krystal and Keena Taylor; two grandchildren , Leah Cowans and Reginal Clark, Jr.; one brothers, Henry Small, of Clarence Louisiana; four sisters, Irma Anthony(Clyde), Lessie Small, Patricia Morris (Albert) of Clarence Louisiana and Bessie Jones(John) of Winnfild Louisiana; a special niece Elaine Small; special friends, Lillian Boyd and Terry Young; nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the Saint Mark Church Family.
