Not sure what to say?

One time I was over at Rosita's house on an afternoon. Ajit and Charles elsewhere. We chatted about this and that as Rosita ironed shirts. I watched as she spent ½ hour plus on one shirt. So carefully ironing the yoke, the collar, the cuffs and sleeves, between the buttons in front. To this day, as I iron a shirt in my usual 3 to 5 minute slapdash manner, I think of Rosita's care and perfection which made this mundane task a work of art.

I remember Rosita imitating chef Julia Childs' voice, doubtless out of admiration for Rosita was a tireless cook. To be invited to a weekend dinner at the Mals was always something special because of Rosita's "preparations," as she called her dishes. Great food, great company, often including one or more of Ajit's students--these were unforgettable times from our Santa Monica years. The generous spirit of Rosita can only be missed.

I will never forget my somewhat madcap former colleague for her sometimes-eccentric passions, her way with words, her endearing sense of humor, her love of cats & her many other qualities that made her so unique & fun to work with. Sincere condolences to her family, the world is a poorer place without her.
